Bleaching is the process by which undesirable colors are removed or weakened, in particular yellowing is removed. Today, textile fibers such as cotton and linen are mainly bleached in Germany with hydrogen peroxide. In this process, impurities and substances contained in the fibers that discolor them are destroyed by oxidation.
At LANIUS, we mostly use an environmentally friendly oxygen-based bleaching process. For selected materials, we use optical brighteners, which are neither harmful to the environment nor hazardous to health according to GOTS guidelines.
