TENCEL™ Modal

Wearing comfort meets excellent eco-balance

TENCEL™ modal fibers are largely made from the renewable raw stoﬀ beech wood, which comes from sustainable forestry around Austria and its neighboring countries. The natural modal fiber is biodegradable. In the manufacturing process, wood chips are boiled in sodium hydroxide solution, which dissolves the cellulose from the wood and forms viscose. A honey-like mass is produced as the basic material for the spinning process. We use TENCEL™ modal fibers from Lenzing, which is produced in Austria in a CO2-neutral manner.

China

Our company with exemplary character

We have been working with our operation in China since 2008. There is a friendly connection between Claudia Lanius and the owner of the farm, Aichin, who is married to a Dane. A true pioneer in many respects, she has integrated anthroposophical thinking into her Chinese production: Flat hierarchies prevail in the employee-managed business, despite the fact that it employs around 100 people.
